Hi all,

For those newer to wrestling, we wanted to make sure you know when your child wrestles and what class they are in. If your child's name is not on the list and they are planning to wrestle please let me know right away!

Our first session will be only PeeWees and Bantams wrestling. You need to be at the Wrangler Gym no later than 7:30 to warm up and get ready to wrestle. Wear your singlet along with your team shirt and warm up pants. Bring your headgear and wrestling shoes (please, no street shoes on the mats).

Intermediate, Novice, and School Boy/Girl will wrestle in the second session, which will begin 1/2 hour after the first session wraps up. Plan on showing up no later than 11am.

“Meet Me on the Mat”
2 Style Wrestling Tournament

Saturday, March 5, 2016

Location: Wrangler Gym - 665 N. Tyler Ave, Pinedale, Wyoming

Times: Doors open at 7:00 am
Coaches meeting at 7:45 am
Pee Wees (6&U) and Bantams (7-8) begin approximately at 8:00 am
All other classes begin after first session is finished.

Registration: All wrestlers must register and pay online at trackwrestling.com by 11:00 pm on Thursday, March 3rd. No on site registration. No morning check-in.
Wrestlers must have a current USA card to participate. All wrestlers registered by 11:00 pm Sunday, February 28th will have their names available for the tournament t-shirts.

Weigh-ins: REMOTE WEIGH-INS and SKIN CHECKS ONLY. Must be conducted by a current licensed USAW licensed coach. Email Elisha Hailey at haley.elisha@gmail.com to get a team login. Teams will be required to enter in their wrestlers’ actual weights by Thursday at 11:00 pm. PPWC and/or Head official reserve the right to re-weigh any wrestler at the tournament (2 lb. allowance).

Tournament - Round Robin – no predetermined weights, wrestlers will be put into groups of
Format: 3-5 based upon their actual weights and division
- Headgear required for both styles of wrestling
- Red and blue singlets required for freestyle
- Pee Wees (6&U) and Bantams (7-8) wrestle first session; folkstyle will be
first, followed by freestyle
- Intermediate (9-10), Novice (11-12), School Boy/Girl (13-14), and Cadet
(15-16) wrestle immediately after first session ends; folkstyle will be first,
followed by freestyle

Entry: Entry fee for one or two styles is $30 total. No refunds. Admission is free.

numerous other clothing and logo options.
- Pairing or mat official required for team trophy eligibility. Compensation also

- Registered wrestlers receive a 10% discount for ski pass at White Pine Ski Resort and
20% discount for White Pine tubing hill. Good for the 4th, 5th and 6th of March.

Welcome!
We are excited for the approaching wrestling season!  Here is a little start-up info:  Our first practice will be for all ages (5-18) on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 5:45 at the Wrangler Gym cafeteria. After that practice we will split into two practice groups:
Mon/Wed (5:45-6:45) is for those newer to wrestling, needing to build foundational skills.
Tue/Thur (5:45-7:15) is for the more advanced wrestlers.
 
If you haven’t signed up yet, come to any practice and sign up there!

 

Mission statement

The Pinedale Pummelers Wrestling Club will promote the interest in the sport of wrestling among the youths and the parents/guardians of Sublette County, Wyoming, and supervise and promote a disciplined and competitive program of wrestling. Our club promotes a safe, positive and friendly atmosphere where those interested in wrestling can learn about the sport. We focus on good sportsmanship, honesty, and respect for authority and skills needed to achieve success both on and off the mat. We encourage participation in local, state, regional and national championships allows our athletes of all ages, sizes, gender and skill levels to increase their competition experience, improve their wrestling talent, and enhance their confidence levels while developing vital life skills, such as leadership, teamwork, integrity and sportsmanship.

Wrestling is a unique sport in that it provides both physical and mental development. We are a non-profit organization that provides wrestling instruction for youths (girls and boys) ages 5 – 18. Pinedale Pummelers purpose is to support wrestling at all levels, promote the sport to the public and develop amateur athletes for wrestling competition. Pinedale Pummelers promotes and supports Folkstyle and Freestyle Wrestling.

Pinedale Pummelers is committed to providing a safe environment for its members, participants, coaches, officials and volunteers and to prevent abusive conduct and harassment in any form while participating. Pinedale Pummelers promotes good sportsmanship throughout the organization and encourages qualities of mutual respect, courtesy and tolerance in all members, participants, coaches, officials, staff and volunteers. Pinedale Pummelers advocates building strong self-images among the youth participants. Athletes with a strong self-image may be less likely targets for abuse or harassment; similarly, they may be less likely to engage in abuse or to harass or bully others around them.
